The Rotary District 9940 Wellington Regional Children's Health Fund Charitable Trust (Known simply as the Rotary 9940 Children's Health Trust) was set up to provide support to initiatives across the lower North Island of New Zealand that assist rangatahi and their health.
Our charitable trust started through a partnership with the Wellington Hospital Foundation and Rotary District 9940. This partnership is focussed toward the development and fitout of two whanau rooms at the Wellington Regional Children's Hospital: a project that costs $400,000.
Our Current Project
Rotary District 9940 and the Wellington Hospitals Foundation have been working in partnership to build and equip two whanau rooms at the new Wellington Regional Children's Hospital.
The Rotary 9940 Children's Health Trust was created for this purpose, and has committed to raising $400,000 towards the construction of two new Whanau rooms to support family's to stay with their children. This will contribute to ensuring that the Children’s Hospitals will meet the needs of young patients, and their whanau, during what is likely to be stressful times in their life. This will help them not just for now – into the future as well.
Our Progress To Date
“We are delighted that Rotary District 9940 have agreed to be official Charity Partners of Wellington Hospitals Foundation for our New Regional Children's Hospital (Te Wao Nui). Rotary has agreed to raise $400,000 to fund two Whanau/Family rooms for young patients and their caregivers and /or parents. This is an outstanding partnership that will assist the overall patient and family experience at our new hospital. Thank you Rotary."
